BATTLESHIP notes
========================================================================
Guess what? This game is absolutely free! Since the game really isn't
polished enough yet to charge money for it, everyone out there gets a
pretty good deal. There are, however, a few things that you should be
aware of. This game, although free, is still copyrighted, and any
modification or alteration would not be appreciated. There are also a
few small quirks with the game operation. The game uses a lot of disk-
IO, so the game should really be run from the hard drive. This permits
a computer with a limited amount of memory to still play the game. If
the game is interrupted, some temporary files might be left on the disk.
These files will be named tmp1.$$$ or something with a .$$$ extension.
You should delete these files if the game is interrupted. Another
problem is that there is no way to disable the sound. Sorry, next version
will either have commands in the game or use command-line arguments to
control that. In addition, I'm planning to expand this game to include
two player capabilities over modem and networks, and a learning algorithm
for the computer, so it will be able to learn your style of play and change
it's strategy. I plan to distribute this release as shareware, with a
modest fee of $10 or $15. Hope you enjoy the game.

P.S. If you enjoy the game, all I ask is that you send me a note or a
postcard telling me where you live, what BBS or network you downloaded the
game from, and what you would like to see in the next version. I would
like to keep track of where the game has gone. My address is:
James Boer
1734A Lakeview Blvd
Mount Vernon, WA 98273
You can also FAX me a note at (206) 424-5212.
I put a lot of effort into this game, so I would really appreciate if you
took the time to do this for me. Thanks.
